Introducing.. DIY owl pellet dissection kits!
We’ve been wanting to offer an experience to people through our art; thoughts of DIY kits have been swirling for awhile. An opportunity to educate others on the natural world around us? Yes, please. 🫡
Each kit includes a plastic container for bone storage, a pair of latex-free gloves, two toothpicks, newspaper, a tiny spray bottle for water, and a wrapped owl pellet.
You can reveal, identify, and keep your own tiny bones, too! 🖤 In each kit, you can find a “bonus” bone identification chart that our supplier happily provides – these are owl pellets from barn owls in Washington state, kept by a couple who has dedicated years of their lives to educating others. As a reminder, owl pellets are regurgitated balls of undigested food parts; owls cannot digest large bones or fur from the animals they hunt, so they eject these pellets. Voila!
